Sierra hike around Tahoe Donner

Not a future ladies downhill olympic contender but certainly a future occupant of unit 29C. The first few turns of the 2011/2012 season at Squaw Valley, USA.  One of the many Tahoe ski areas within easy access from Wolf Creek Lodge.

Turkeys!?!?

Saw about a dozen wild turkeys on the property this weekend. Now that would be a locally grown, organic Thanksgiving dinner!!!!!

Five of us, Bernice, Claire, Jo, Magdalene and Virginia, enjoyed an outstanding production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni at the local movie theatre. This is a new treat for Grass Valley.

For myself, it is really a new phase as I have sold my home in the San Francisco Bay Area, and I’m looking forward to moving into Wolf Creek Lodge this coming summer.

On Sunday, September 25th, several members of Wolf Creek Lodge enjoyed listening to Judy Collins, at the age of 71, thoroughly entertain a capacity crowd of over 500 at the Veteran’s Hall in Grass Valley.

Several lucky Wolf Creek Lodge members enjoyed a lovely, summer evening in the gardens at the Empire Mine State Historic Park on August 21. The event known as “Bella Nota” is a major fundraiser for Hospitality House, the non-profit organization that provides shelter for the homeless in Nevada County.
