CONSTRUCTION UPDATE:9/30/2011

Podium steelWe have water and fire hydrants working on site now! While it looks like not a whole lot has happened from the view from the sidewalk, actually a lot has. The crew has been busy putting in stormwater, fire and water lines, digging footings for the East Wing foundation, installing the plumbing that runs under the slabs and beginning to prep the site for upcoming rains. Most of this then gets covered up and you never really appreciate how much is under the ground. This week, our structural engineer came up to do a thorough inspection of the steel in the concrete podium over the garage, which will be the floor for the ground floor homes on the west wing. Next week, they will pour the podium deck! Soon, we’ll start seeing the wood walls going up.
