Claire on Castle Peak

Four Wolf Creek Lodge members hiked from the Boreal/Castle Peak I80 off ramp at Donner Summit to the top of Castle Peak. Here is a picture of Claire on an outcrop on the way down. We recommend the route: start on dirt road, quickly turn right to the PCT to Castle Pass, scale the peak, back to Castle Pass, then continue on along the trail that skirts Andesite Peak back to the dirt road and home.

    More power to you, Claire! I went on this hike many years ago, and I know it is beautiful. I Remember the last stretch up to Castle peak is very steep and nothing to hold onto. Takes bit of guts to do it.
